so i finally got to the hand specialist this morning. it pretty much went exactly like i thought it would. the nice doc said i have what i knew i had (de quervains) and then i got a shot of steroids in each wrist. it burned quite a bit, but hopefully it will resolve the problem. he said he sees a lot of women after delivery with the same issue. how come i never heard of it? anyways, he excused me from work for at least another 3 weeks until i go for my follow up appt. so i am submitting another short term disability claim, heck, i might as well get paid right! so i'm at least off work until may 16!
ellie spent the morning at her aunt's house. she seemed happy when i returned to get her and then once i picked took her out of her aunt's arms she started crying. what is that for? it was kind of funny though. she didn't sleep much for her, so once we got home she took a 2 1/2 hour nap. i was so happy to get about an hour and 15 minute nap myself. when i woke up i felt so rested. ellie will go to her aunt's again tomorrow. we're testing the water to see if this 2 mornings a week babysitting will work since her youngest cousin over there is still only 6 months. i'm hoping it works so i can have a few hours a week to get things done, plus it'll be good practice for ellie once her aunt starts watching her overnight near the end of summer when nate and i work the same night.
nate's at work. ellie is finally asleep now at 9:15 pm, so i'm wrapping things up and going to bed myself. i love going to bed so early now. no more late bedtimes for us!
