Feeling crafty

My sister Abby spent the night on Tuesday and I was really wanting to do something crafty so she didn't get bored. I decided it was time to finally use the sewing machine my mom bought us for Christmas in 2007 and time to spruce up our guest bathroom. I had used gift cards to buy nice towels (a first for us!) and purchased a plain white shower curtain with the intention of adding some embellishments to it. So, it finally happened and I was so glad Abby was there to help cuz she came up with the idea of the bows on the top and it totally completes the picture.

This ribbon is to help people stop and think before using my nice decorative towel for drying their hands and to use the plain green one underneath instead! Hey give me a break, how long have I waited for nice towels?

The ribbons on the shower curtain are to coordinate with the rows of green on the "decorative" white towels. We've had a dark green curtain in our bathroom for years and I was very ready for something a lot lighter and softer.

The proud artisans!
Fortunately the entire project only needed straight stitching and a few hand sewn finishes. It took about 4 hours. On to the next project!

Abusive wife...

So Nate just loved it when people asked (and pretty much everyone who saw him did) what happened to his eye. His first response was to blame me, but finally he couldn't stand the lie and would admit that someone's elbow was stronger than his face at Basketball last week. It was such a pretty bruise.

Mary

This is one of my favorite pictures ever and here's why: This is Nate's sister who hates the color pink, yet um that's the color she's wearing. Also, she's about 7 months pregnant and crocheting. It just looks like a scene out of Little House on the Prairie! So domestic! Anyways, we figured this is a site we would rarely see again, and Mary was very obliging. Thanks Mary, you look good!

Here's some pix of a few of our nephews/nieces in Oregon

Playing around with different camera settings. It's kind of cool.

Jamin. He's a goof!

Memories

This is my cousin Jeff. He's just a couple months older than me and my Grandma thought it'd be cute to look back at when I was taller than him. I'm pretty sure we're at least the same height now! Gotta love the hair and the polka dots. I think I wore A LOT of polkadots in my days. Yikes!

spaceman nate

So this is what happens when you don't remember your mask size and you have to take care of a patient on airborne precautions. Nate has since remembered what his mask size is!
